Wild Buffalo Summit

It started with a conversation, continued with several calls and meetings, and became a series of summits.

The discussion at all of these revolved around the return of bison, or buffalo, to the prairies. From these early conversations, a committee formed, led by Indigenous co-chairs. These summits were aimed at advancing the conversation around wild bison, but also ensured the conversation was inclusive and grounded in traditional knowledge and ceremony.
