Action Alert: Proposal to amend the Canadian Migratory Birds Regulations – 2026

Alberta Wilderness Association (AWA) provided comments regarding the Proposed amendments to the Canadian Migratory Birds Regulations – 2026. Overall, while AWA acknowledges the hunting of migratory birds to manage some populations, we do not agree with several of the amended changes regarding expanding hunting areas and seasons, and we have provided recommendations to help secure populations of sensitive and declining migratory species within Alberta.
