Minister of Environment reply on strychnine use dodges responsibility

In response to a letter signed by AWA and over 30 other signatories opposing the emergency use of strychnine, the federal Minister of Environment and Climate Change Canada has replied that this is not a concern for her Ministry, referring to the issue as a concern for the Ministry of Health. While it is true that pesticide management falls under the Minister of Health, use of this particular pesticide has broad consequences for wildlife and for the ecosystem. The lack of interest in strychnine use by the Minister of Environment is alarming.
