Susan Holroyd join us from the Alberta Community Bat Program to teach us about the nine species of bats that are found in Alberta, the threats they face, and what we can do to help. As the twilight deepened, we headed down to the water, where we would soon see bats zipping back and forth over the water feeding on insects. We also used bat detectors, that are able to “hear” the bats and make a guess as to what species they are. The bats must have had a delicious meal because the mosquitos were ravenous!
