AWA’s comments on the proposed Terms of Reference for Northback’s Grassy Mountain Environmental Impact Assessment

On January 15, 2026, AWA submitted comments on the Proposed Terms of Reference for the Environmental Impact Assessment Report completed by Northback Holdings Corporation for the Proposed Grassy Mountain coal project. These Terms of Reference will be used to guide and support Northback’s development of an Environmental Impact Assessment report, which will include information on anticipated environmental and socioeconomic effects of the Project.
AWA continues to oppose this project due to the anticipated environmental impacts that it will have on local and downstream regions.
