VOTE: 2026 Earth Day Photo Contest!

What better way to celebrate Earth Day than by celebrating the people who document Alberta’s precious wildlife and landscapes?

We received over 150 photo submissions for our Earth Day Photo Contest this year, and with great difficulty we have narrowed it down to 32 finalists. Thank you to everyone who submitted photos!

There are two categories in this year’s contest: staff choice, and people’s choice — and that’s where you come in. Voting for the people’s choice category is now open right here on our website and will run until 11:59 p.m. MDT on Apr. 15. To vote, peruse the collection of photos down below from our list of finalists (all photos are identified only by a number and are in no particular order). Then, select the corresponding number for your favourite photo using the dropdown menu. We ask that you please only submit one vote per voter — duplicates will not be counted.

Both category winners will be announced on Apr. 22 during our Earth Day talk night featuring Kaitlin Mercier from EcoLogic Horticulture and current coordinator for Southern Alberta Native Seed Collaborative (SANSC). Click here to register for the talk + awards night!

Update: voting is now closed, but you can still view the finalists down below!
