Come learn about Alberta’s birds with Gavin McKinnon, co-author of the soon to be released A Field Guide to the Birds of Alberta. Gavin will speak about great places to visit and find birds, from local hotspots to unique opportunities around the province, and about this passion for birds that sparked his career.

Meet our presenter:

Gavin McKinnon has traveled across Alberta’s eco-regions learning and growing his knowledge of bird identification and distribution from time spent in the mountains, foothills, boreal forest, and prairies. Gavin holds a diploma of Renewable Resource Management from Lethbridge Polytechnic and has worked in environmental consulting, and he is now the owner and operator of Meadowlark Birding Tours, where he specializes in offering high-quality birding tours in Alberta, across Canada, and around the globe.
