Join us for a day of discovery in the Crowsnest as we explore one of Alberta’s most remarkable mountain landscapes and the stories it has to tell. This hike will take us to a historic mine site, offering a unique opportunity to learn about the natural and human history that has shaped the region over generations.
From our vantage point, we’ll take in sweeping views of the Oldman watershed, the former Adanac Mine, and the surrounding peaks, valleys, and forests. Along the way, we’ll explore how geology, water, wildlife, and a century of changing land uses have influenced the landscape we see today. Together, we’ll examine the connections between biodiversity, watershed health, recreation, resource development, and community values, and consider what these lessons can teach us about caring for the Eastern Slopes into the future.
Nicole and our conservation specialists will provide historical and ecological context, highlighting both the resilience of these mountain ecosystems and the challenges they face. Through conversation, observation, and shared learning, we’ll discuss how past decisions continue to shape present-day conditions and how Albertans can help foster a healthy, thriving landscape for future generations.
